Job Description:
As part of our academic program success plan, we are posting this position with a two-year implementation timeline.  Year 1 (2024-2025) The position will be an extra duty stipend position.  The selected candidate will participate in training and learning activities led by the current Math & Science District Instructional Coordinator.  The schedule will be flexible to accommodate one’s current position.  However, some school day activities may be required.  Advance notice will be provided to allow for appropriate time off and coverage of current responsibilities.  Year 2 (2025-2026) The position will transition into a full-time position with SSD.  Internal and external candidates are encouraged to apply.
 
Year 1 - Extra Duty Stipend of $3000.00

Purpose Statement
The job of District Instructional Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of directing the curriculum program and services, providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team.  This job reports to the Executive Director of Pre K – 6th Grade and Executive Director of Grades 7-14.

Essential Functions
  • Assists with department operations (e.g. maintenance of services, implementation of new programs and/or processes, etc.) for the purpose of providing services within established time frames and in compliance with related requirements.
  • Attends meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. (e.g. regulatory requirements, district liaison for community involvement, actions involving outside agencies, interdepartmental needs, etc.) for the purpose of identifying issues, garnering recommendations, and supporting other staff.
  • Collaborate and support District Instructional Coordinator(s) for specified content area(s).
  • Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators, auditors, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
  • Implements curriculum content for the purpose of conforming to district and state curriculum and/or instructional objectives.
  • Implements assigned programs and/or projects (e.g. assessment initiatives, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to regulatory requirements and instructional objectives of the department and district.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, internal audits, curriculum additions and deletions, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Presents information on a variety of topics (e.g. current practices, methods, curriculum guidelines, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information and/or recommendations regarding district curriculum.
  • Provides instructional support for district teachers (e.g. modeling, co-teaching, planning, etc.) for the purpose of improving quality of instruction and promoting academic achievement.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. current practices, instructional materials, methods, curriculum guidelines, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs and/or master plans.
  • Responds to a variety of individuals and groups regarding educational reform, school improvement efforts and providing special education for students with disabilities (e.g. school district administrators, parents, educators, etc.) for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue.
  • Uses data from a variety of sources (e.g. workshops, conferences, regulatory reports, department meetings, etc.) for the purpose of complying with financial, legal and administrative requirements.

Experience:   Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
Education:     Master’s degree in job-related area.
Certificates and Licenses:  Designated Subject Matter Endorsement.  Valid Teaching Certification/Subject Area Concentration
Clearances:  Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
Continuing Education/Training:  Maintains Certificates and/or Licenses.  Continuing Education Requirements
FLSA Status:  Exempt
