Fort Osage High School has 2 Assistant Principals, 1 Freshman Center Principal, 1 Activities Director and a Head Principal.
 
Must hold a valid Missouri High School Principal Certificate by contracted first date of employment.
 
Preference will be given to those who apply by Friday, May 3rd.
 
11 month working calendar (July 29, 2024 - June 30, 2025) with vacation, sick and personal days allotted yearly.
Salary Ranges: Dependent on previous years certificated administrative experience and highest degree earned but range from $85,000-$115,000
 
Purpose Statement
 
The job of Assistant Principal is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned school site programs and services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; supervising assigned staff; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/or problems with enrolled students.
 
This job reports to the Principal
 
Essential Functions
  • Collaborates for the purpose of providing a positive learning environment resulting in excellent student achievement.
  • Compiles for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
  • Facilitates communication among personnel, students and/or parents (e.g. evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
  • Facilitates and participates in meetings, processes, etc. (e.g. curriculum, safety, etc.) for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines, District expectations and policies, and/or ensuring that state mandates are achieved.
  • Implements District policies, procedures and/or processes for the purpose of providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements.
  • Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful life skills.
  • Manages a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedules, assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing site, District and state policy, and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations.
  • Participates in District, building and community meetings for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform functions and service as a positive District representative.
  • Prepares a wide variety of materials (e.g. summarized evaluation, student activities, staff updates, correspondence to parents, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Presents information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.
  • Supervises school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of school's curriculum.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
