Upper School Social Studies Teacher
Begins August 2024
Pembroke Hill School is seeking an experienced Social Studies instructor who is comfortable teaching at the introductory and advanced high school level. The ideal candidate will have previous high school teaching experience and a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates must be comfortable teaching in a college preparatory environment and possess a student-focused classroom approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach five sections of social studies courses in a block schedule (2-5 classes per day). Course load will be determined by the candidate’s strengths and will likely include:

Upper School Social Studies Teacher

Candidates must be comfortable teaching in a college preparatory environment and possess a student-focused classroom approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach five sections of social studies courses in a block schedule (2-5 classes per day). Course load will be determined by the candidate’s strengths and will likely include:
- World History to 1500
- AP US History
- Collaborate effectively and frequently with colleagues within and outside of the social studies department.
- Prepare course materials such as homework assignments and handouts.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Design, evaluate, and grade students' class work and assessments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
