Job Description:
Primary Objective: To plan and deliver a program of instruction that meets students’ needs, is consistent with good practice and fulfills the expectations criteria for teachers as identified in the Webster Groves School District teacher evaluation tool.
Essential Functions:
  • Project positivity, optimism, and joy in all aspects of work.
  • Passionate about growing students both academically and personally.
  • Utilize many different teaching practices and instructional strategies.
  • Implement standards in a variety of ways.
  • Support the growth of students in a way that values student voice, interest, and choice.
  • Maximize learning experiences for a diverse group of students while building on students’ strengths and interests.
  • Assess and interpret results of assessments to provide instruction and enrichment in accordance with a student’s individualized needs.
  • Be an intricate part of a collaborative learning team that continually uses formative and summative data to ensure all students make academic and personal growth.
  • Share ideas and observations with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Develop a cooperative partnership with parents and students based on mutual respect and objectivity.
  • Participate in district and building-level committees.
  • Follow guidance and policies established by the Board of Education.
  • A commitment to ensuring equity for all students, and an understanding that this starts with a commitment to a personal journey of honesty, reflection, and growth.
  • True love for and belief in all students-unwavering confidence in all students’ ability to grow and achieve at high levels.
  • Respect for student voice and choice.
  • Strong knowledge of varied teaching practices and the ability to implement them in support of student learning.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.  Major or Minor in content area required. 
Certification: Requires Missouri teacher certification with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned.
