Job Description:
Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and culturally competent Licensed Therapist to work with students in a school setting with a high Hispanic and English Language Learner (ELL) population. This role is an integral part of our commitment to providing comprehensive support to our diverse student body. The School-Based Licensed Therapist will work closely with students, families, and school staff to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering evidence-based therapeutic services that promote the well-being and academic success of our students.
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Operations
Required Skills/Abilities and Key Responsibilities:
Individual and Group Therapy: Provide individual and group therapy sessions to students, addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct assessments to determine students' emotional and psychological needs, develop appropriate treatment plans, and make clinical diagnoses as necessary.
Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute emotional distress or challenging life situations.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with school personnel, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, to develop and implement strategies for supporting students' well-being.
Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in providing services to a predominantly Hispanic and ELL population, respecting diverse backgrounds and languages.
Parent and Family Engagement: Engage with parents and families to provide education, support, and resources, enhancing their involvement in their child's therapeutic journey.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other necessary documentation in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Professional Development: Stay informed about current best practices in school-based therapy and seek ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
Supervision: Participate in regular clinical supervision, consultation, and team meetings to ensure the highest quality of care for students.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to the effectiveness of therapy services and provide reports to school administrators as required.

Education and Experience:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Current licensure as a therapist or counselor in the state [Specify State].
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, particularly with Hispanic and ELL students, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students and their families.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Flexibility to work on a teacher work calendar and during school hours.
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is a preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the school and classroom.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
