Program Supervisor - Flyers Club (school-age care)
Summary: Flyers Club Supervisor provides leadership and coordination in developing, implementing, and supervising all Flyers Club before and after school programs, camps (including full-day summer camps), school’s out days, and other high-quality child-care programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Supervisor - Flyers Club (school-age care)
- Full-time position
- Schedule: 12 months, Monday-Friday
- Beginning Salary: $41,000-43,000
- Full Benefits included: Medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement
Summary: Flyers Club Supervisor provides leadership and coordination in developing, implementing, and supervising all Flyers Club before and after school programs, camps (including full-day summer camps), school’s out days, and other high-quality child-care programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned day-to-day operations of the department’s Flyers Club programs, including assisting with development and execution of budget
- Recruit, interview, train, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers
- Create and administer a program evaluation process
- Work with families to draft student success plans and suggest reasonable accommodations
- Enforce behavior plans and make discipline or restorative practice recommendations
- Document important program information; maintain databases, process registrations, schedule programs, and build online registrations for program areas
- Recognize community needs and recommend new program offerings
- Nurture professional growth and building of staff morale
- Keep up with current trends and developments in the child care/camp field
- Greet visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and share program information
- Maintain and monitor effective communication with parents and staff, as well as communication between program staff and parents such as social media and all outgoing correspondence to families
- Implement and monitor implementation of programming methods, classroom management, and the use of enrichment and recreation materials with daily routine for programs
- Coordinate field trips and transportation for select programs, as needed
- Train and assist staff in developing techniques for developmental growth of children
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, employees, and district personnel
- Collaborate on postings of fee payments and letters concerning tuition owed
- Monitor child fees and attendance through attendance reports
- Performs routine tasks working with confidential information and personnel information
- Assist in the new hiring process by ensuring form completions and reference checks
- Facilitate meetings and attend meetings, fairs, expos, conferences, or trainings, as needed
- Conduct or assist with invoicing and fee collections, as needed
- Have regular communication with site-supervisors on processes and procedures
- Regular site visits and evaluations at all before and after care locations, as well as camps
- Implement and ensure safety regulations and best practices are followed
- Maintain positive interactions with internal and external constituents
- Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required
- Other duties as assigned by the program manager or department director
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Development, Recreation, or similar field required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in management of school-age child care, recreation, or summer camp programs, or related area
- Prior experience supervising employees at multiple sites
- Prior experience working with community or school programs is preferred
- Prior experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders is preferred
- Working knowledge and prior experience with online registration system is preferred
- Working knowledge and prior experience with facility scheduling software is preferred
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office software applications and Google Workspace
