Rossman School (Creve Coeur, MO) is seeking an experienced School Counselor to join our team of committed faculty and staff. The part-time school counselor works closely with students, teachers, learning specialists, administrators, parents, and the school nurse to understand and meet the needs of all of our learners.

Rossman School (Creve Coeur, MO) is seeking an experienced School Counselor to join our team of committed faculty and staff. The part-time school counselor works closely with students, teachers, learning specialists, administrators, parents, and the school nurse to understand and meet the needs of all of our learners.
Duties & Responsibilities of the School Counselor:
- Promotes the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students from Junior Kindergarten through grade 6 and intervenes to support a student’s or class’s social-emotional challenges.
- Provides direct services to students, including individual counseling, small group counseling, and larger group/classroom education.
- Remains accessible to students and makes an effort to know every student.
- Communicates, coordinates, and collaborates with health and educational specialists to develop and implement student educational, social-emotional, and behavioral supports.
- Acts as a resource for school leaders, faculty, and parents regarding current research on social-emotional development and mental health.
- Functions as a part of the Learning Effectiveness Team along with Rossman’s School Psychologist/Learning Consultant, Learning Coordinator, and Academic Directors.
- Develops programming for students, faculty, and parents on social-emotional development, parenting and care-giving, family issues, and mental health topics.
- Builds trusting relationships within the school community that support the school’s mission and values.
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
- Minimum of 2 years of counseling experience focused on the developmental needs of elementary age children.
- Appropriate and current state and clinical licensure.
- Well-rounded knowledge of best practices in school counseling and health privacy acts.
