KIPP St. Louis is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to become part of our vibrant educational community. This role may travel between our school locations and work with a variety of age groups.

Under the leadership of the Director of Special Education, and in collaboration with School Leaders and Teachers, the Speech-Language Pathologist will use effective strategies to serve the needs of students with communication disorders at KIPP St. Louis. - Implement IEP goals for speech and language students.
- Score a 90% or higher on compliance audit for special education
Under the leadership of the Director of Special Education, and in collaboration with School Leaders and Teachers, the Speech-Language Pathologist will use effective strategies to serve the needs of students with communication disorders at KIPP St. Louis. The position will include the following roles and responsibilities:
Planning and Oversight:
- Determine and use procedures for referrals, identification, diagnosis, case termination and follow-up of Speech/Language Pathology students.
- Establish daily schedules for assigned students according to service minutes established in the IEP.
- Perform initial evaluations and re-evaluations as required by federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Analyzes and interprets information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
- Determines the effects of the student’s impairment in regard to accessing the general curriculum
- Utilize allocated coordination time to perform additional professional responsibilities including developing and updating therapy plans, holding parent conferences, staff consultations, and classroom observations.
- Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models, including classroom intervention, consultation/collaboration, and pull-out as appropriate to meet student needs in the least restrictive environment
- Consult and collaborate with members of students’ teams to monitor academic progress and
- design/implement IEP accommodations/modifications.
- Develop and implement an IEP (and other supporting paperwork) for each student within mandated timelines
- Attend and serve as a member of the IEP team to determine the eligibility of students
- Complete progress reports for each student served.
- Maintain an individual folder for each student that contains all forms required by federal and state mandates.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology required
- Missouri Speech and Language Pathology License required for the position
- Experience in pediatrics/school-based speech and language therapy strongly preferred
- Dedication to helping children grow and learn
- A passion for working with students from underserved communities
- Ability to take and quickly implement feedback
