Educational Support Counselor

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor required 
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics, a variety of counseling techniques and interventions, familiarity with community agencies and referral sources, workable knowledge of school law, policies, and special education. Awareness of mental health disorders and challenges facing our students.
  • Skilled at individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, conducting individual and/or family assessments, collaborating with other professionals within and outside of the school district. Ability to partner and relate effectively with students, their families, and all school faculty.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed principles including the ability to articulate best practices and alternatives to exclusionary discipline including positive school practices, resiliency supports and restorative methods. 
 
Experience:   Previous experience in counseling/social work with children.  Work experience in school setting preferred.
 
 Salary: Minimum salary $48,897
  • Base Salary is adjusted according to years of relevant service and post-Masters-level coursework.
  • An annual stipend of $2500 is provided as compensation for emergency responses to families/consultation with private services during evening, weekends, holidays and breaks, work to obtain/maintain licensure and student/family support that falls outside the regular scheduled work calendar
  • An annual $3000 stipend is available upon receiving National Board Certification
Hours: 7:45AM- 3:30PM
