- Strong knowledge of elementary teaching methodology, child development, Art principles
- Understanding and willingness to differentiate instruction, as needed, for multiple learning styles and ability levels
- Experience with a wide range of teaching, classroom management, and assessment strategies and the ability to apply these in the elementary classroom setting
- Willingness and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers on content area instruction and student needs
- Ability and commitment necessary to develop and continuously improve Art curriculum for elementary students
- Ability to communicate student progress to parents and to classroom teachers
