Job Description:
Overall Responsibility:
As a teacher with KRECC, you will work together with our teachers, children and families to create and implement a positive learning environment for the children in our infant and toddler classrooms, using a “learning through play” philosophy as well as your own knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices together with specific interests of the children.

Desired Candidate Must:
  • Be warm, nurturing, and able to engage infants and toddlers between the ages of 6 weeks and 24 months.
  • Be a motivated team player and work well in a team-teaching environment.
  • Utilize knowledge of developmental milestones as well as using observations of the children’s interests to plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Exhibit classroom management skills, including the ability to encourage children to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Engage with students on an appropriate level throughout guided lessons, center time, and gross motor time.
  • Have a passion for Early Childhood Education and desire to help each child reach his or her potential.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate, well-organized and clean physical classroom environment.
  • Be able to communicate and maintain a welcoming and constructive relationship with children and their families, as well as colleagues.
  • Successfully communicate and conduct yourself with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Be patient, nurturing, flexible and dedicated; be willing to take on responsibility and initiative.
  • Maintain excellent daily communication with parents and maintain an open and welcoming presence towards families.
  • Be punctual and regular in attendance, spending sufficient time to perform assigned duties thoroughly.
  • Demonstrate high standards of appearance, ethics, and behavior which serve as a positive model for colleagues and parents.
  • Use a positive approach in dealing with disruptive behavior and deal with children fairly and impartially.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time on the floor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.  
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field (or working towards)
  • One year of experience working with young children, preferably infants through age two.
  • Knowledge of Judaism is a plus but not required.
Terms of Employment
  • Assigned to a four day work calendar persisting of ten hours per day vary; 12 months; compensation and benefits (Dental and Vision). Employment discount for child care offered. Earned paid time off. Six paid federal holidays per year.
  • Shift times are 7:30-5:30 or 8:00-6:00 with one hour break (paid). Must be available for either shift.
