As an Early Head Start Teacher you will foster the social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development of infants and toddlers in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Missouri Child Care Licensing Relations, MOA Accreditation Standards and YWCA policies and procedures.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: ONLY APPLICANTS MEETING THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED
  • MUST HAVE: An Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education with (4) courses specializing in Infant/Toddler OR Bachelor's degree with 480 hours demonstrated experience working in an infant/toddler childcare setting. OR
  • INFANT/TODDLER CDA
  • All applicants that do not have an Infant/Toddler CDA must be willing to obtain one within a designated period of time.
Your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
  • Ensure childcare indoor and outdoor environment meets the health, safety, and mental health requirements of infants and toddlers in accordance with local, state, and early head start standards,
  • Ensure that the development and implementation of lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and based on the Early Head Start curriculum.
  • Ensure that nurturing bonds are developed with each infant and toddler through individualized care.
  • Ensure that positive and culturally sensitive relationships are fostered with parents and families to support the development of infants and toddlers through ongoing communication.
  • Ensure that parents are provided opportunities for involvement in their infants' toddlers' education.
  • Ensure that collaboration is established with family advocate to provide comprehensive and holistic services.
  • Ensure accurate documentation has been maintained regarding each child's development and growth through daily observation and recording of infants' toddlers' behavior and skill attainment.
Qualifications/Required Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of child development with an emphasis in birth to 3 years old.
  • Through knowledge of implementing developmentally appropriate practice in daily routine for infants and toddlers.
    Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to establish trust, communicate respect, and development caring and nurturing relationships with children, parents, staff and the community.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Effectively manage the infant toddler classroom.
  • Be able to process and apply information appropriately.
  • Ability to develop and maintain nurturing relationships with infants and toddlers and their families.
  • Ability to incorporate the Head Start Performance Standards, Missouri Child Care Licensing Regulations, MOA Accreditation Standards into daily routine and care.
