As a Business Office Manager, you will perform various business office functions including student billing and collections, accounts payable processing, payroll and HRIS maintenance, employee benefits administration, general accounting support, financial aid application processing and other business-related activities.

Job Classification:  Salaried, Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 30-40 hours per week
Location: Lower School Campus, 39th & Gilham Streets in Kansas City, MO

What You Will Accomplish
As a member of the Business Office team, you will help Sion achieve its goals by:
  • Ensuring families are billed properly for their student’s education and that delinquent balances are identified and followed up on
  • Ensuring vendors are paid for services and goods on a prompt basis
  • Ensuring faculty and staff are paid accurately and timely for their work
  • Administering employee benefits for faculty and staff
  • Assisting in the annual financial aid award process
  • Managing multiple payment platforms for non-tuition revenue
  • Assisting in the preparation of schedules for the accounting team
  • Providing backup for the Grade School front desk
  • Supporting the CFO as needed

The Basic Requirements of this Job
  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, bookkeeping or related subjects (Bachelor degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in payroll, accounts payable and bookkeeping
  • Working knowledge of basic payroll issues.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based Payroll/Timekeeping/HRIS systems – Paycor experience preferred.
  • Basic proficiency using QuickBooks Online
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite & Google Workspace
  • Intermediate competency using Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word
