Job Description:
Good Shepherd is seeking an assistant teacher. Rooms are staffed by the lead teacher and one full time assistant with additional supports from float staff in the afternoons. Our ideal candidate will not only be well versed in the care in education of children, but also have some experience.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Monitor and assess the progress of each child
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with staff to create a cohesive learning environment
- Incorporate educational games, activities, and materials to enhance learning
- Foster a love for learning and encourage curiosity in young children
- Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and understanding when working with young children

Good Shepherd is a small non-profit center with a 55 year long reputation for providing year-round care and education in an inclusive setting. In our under two-years-old classrooms, up to two of the eight children may be identified with special needs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
