Position Summary:
To create an educational program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a quality education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff.
This highly effective and AMAZING teacher will:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaches district approved curriculum and adheres to adopted Board of Education policies.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff and community.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Learns and implements strategies to instruct students in higher level of learning.
• Uses technologies to enhance instruction.
• Must be able to effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
• Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
• Must be able to give and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently.

This highly effective and AMAZING teacher will:
- Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promote a safe and conducive classroom environment for individualized and small-group instruction and student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that promote critical and creative thinking and analysis.
- Developing instructional manuals to help students know the proper handling of computers.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experiences.
- Ensuring proper functioning of all computer equipment.
- Develop pertinent sequential assignments that challenge students.
- Work with students and others to prepare materials for inclusion in literary publications, contests, etc.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Maintain familiarity with district and Missouri standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests.
- Continuously engage in professional learning for the elevation of curriculum delivery.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by district procedures.
- Welcome and encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Effectively engage students at high levels to encourage a focus on academics.

Qualifications:
- Requires valid Missouri teaching certificate for Art K-12.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment, Masters's degree preferred.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer fundamentals and software like word processing.
