Job Description:

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required
• Experience working as a classroom aide preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide instructional services to classroom teachers and students.
• Assist students with disabilities according to their individualized needs.
• Assist in managing the behavior of students.
• Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with board policy and law.
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as requested by administration.
• Help supervise arrival and departure of students to which he or she is assigned.
• Follow instructions from teachers and administrators.
• Work with students individually or in small groups.
• Accompany class to special subjects such as music, physical education, art, and library.
• Provide assistance and guidance of routines to a substitute in a teacher’s absence.
• Work the number of days and hours specified when employed by the board; hours worked exclude lunch.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

TERMS:  Full-time with benefits; $15.20+/hr for 60 hours or $16.21+/hr for bachelor’s with possible steps for experience
EFFECTIVE: October 30, 2023 
SCREENING TO BEGIN: Immediately; open until filled  
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

Recommendation to be given at the October or November 2023, Board of Education meeting.
