Parents as Teachers (PAT) Coordinator-Early Education Department
Primary Function: To coordinate the educational services delivered to families by the Parents as Teachers staff, supervise and provide staff development for parent educators.

Parents as Teachers (PAT) Coordinator-Early Education Department
Primary Function: To coordinate the educational services delivered to families by the Parents as Teachers staff, supervise and provide staff development for parent educators.
Qualifications:
- 1. Bachelor Degree in Education or a related field is required
- 2. National Parents as Teachers Certification as a parent educator and/or supervisor is required
- 3. Demonstrated ability in working with young children and families
- 4. Previous supervisory experience is recommended
- 5. Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, budgeting, task completion and decision making
- 1. Maintain adherence to Early Childhood Development Act and Parents as Teachers Program guidelines as mandated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Parents as Teachers National Center
- 2. Supervise and coordinate the work of parent educator staff
- 3. Train and support new parent educator staff
- 4. Develop and implement program evaluation plan (with guidance from the Director of Early Education) annually
- 5. Develop, implement, and maintain a record keeping system for the program which insures the achievement of program goals
- 6. Researches, adapts, and maintains curriculum and parent materials
- 7. Arranges and schedules developmental screenings
- 8. Coordinate, plan, and schedule preschool screenings in collaboration with the Director of Early Education
- 9. Coordinate, plan and facilitate Kindergarten Registration annually in collaboration with the Director of Early Education
- 10. Plan and lead staff meetings for parent educators
- 11. Train and facilitate work of Parent as Teacher staff mentors and team leaders
- 12. Plan and lead group meetings for parents and children
- 13. Be available to discuss individual concerns with parents and parent educator staff
- 14. Gather and order appropriate materials for staff; i.e. toys, handouts, articles, screening materials, etc.
- 15. Prepare and monitor program budget under guidance from the Director of Early Education
- 16. Plan for recruitment of new families for Parents as Teachers
- 17. Serve as a member of the Early Education leadership team
- 18. Compiles Parents as Teachers application and end-of-the-year closeout report
- 19. Compiles Parents as Teachers application, invoicing, and final report for DESE and PAT National Center
- 20. Assist Director of Early Education with staff hiring
- 21. Conduct regular supervision meetings and end of year evaluations for parents as teachers staff to determine effectiveness and compliance with program policies, procedures, and practices
- 22. Conducts program correspondence and appropriate public relations activities.
- 23. Maintains contact with community agencies and resources
- 24. Attend community and district meetings as requested by the Director of Early Education and report relevant information
- 25. Train and facilitate work of Parent as Teacher staff mentors and team leaders
- 26. Schedules and conducts bi-annual internal and external advisory council meetings Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Early Education
