Description of Responsibilities:
The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. is currently seeking a Nutrition Coordinator to support our Head Start/Early Head Start program. Position responsibilities include day to day menu planning work. This includes working with the ChildPlus database system to create and schedule the menu cycles, updating inventory items identified by the Head Start/Early Head Start program, creating and updating recipes, ensure that all menus comply with USDA meal regulations, and working as directed by the center coordinator to support Head Start/Early Head Start site orders, inventory, and production records through ChildPlus.
The Nutrition Coordinator also ensures the procurement, preparation, distribution and service of nutritious/delicious foods, as well as adheres to applicable laws, standards, and Head Start/Early Head Start guidelines. Ensuring all food is served with the highest possible nutritional quality.

Required Experience/Skills
Candidates must have:
- Ability to prepare meals and snacks that provide the child's daily nutritional needs.
- Possess any combination of experience and education that would insure being able to meet and fulfill job requirements, minimum BS degree in Nutrition or related field. Registered Dietitian preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in education and or Head Start program food service/nutrition management role with an emphasis on menu planning, food procurement, staff training and supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- USDA Child Nutrition Standards and compliance experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current Serve Safe Certification or State/County Food Handler's Certificate.
- Experience in quantity food preparation desired.
- Experience with ChildPlus database system desired.
