District Continuous Improvement Support Team Consultant
Support District Continuous Improvement (DCI) through collaboration within a state system of support to advance and sustain a district-wide focus on an identified set of effective educational practices and increase the use of technologies to support implementation of professional development.
  • Provide support, as indicated by district need, for comprehensive implementation plan development relating to the identified set of effective educational practices.
  • Assist districts in determining training needs and in procuring District Continuous Improvement Support personnel to provide high-quality professional development for training on the identified set of effective educational practices.
  • Provide support, as indicated by district need, in leadership components of DCI.
  • Provide coaching, as indicated by district need, to district leadership and teams on identified effective educational practices, demonstrating a high effect on student outcomes.
  • Provide coaching, as indicated by need, to district leadership and teams in the development of efficient and effective district and building collaborative teams for data-based decision making.
  • Assist district staff in using on-line resources and virtual tools for training and coaching to support DCI implementation.
  • Support district staff in implementing the use of DCI specified materials, processes and effective educational practices with fidelity.
  • Provide coaching support in integration of effective academic and school-wide social/behavioral systems.
  • Provide coaching for district and building leadership teams in school-based implementation coaching to build capacity and promote sustainability of effective educational practices.
DCI Coaching Support Team Consultants will:
Actively support the effective implementation of the DCI process to promote:
  • Internal capacity building for sustainability
  • Fidelity of district practice to DCI expectations
DCI Coaching Support Team positions are specifically intended to provide support at the district leadership and building leadership team levels. It is the expectation that personnel filling these positions have a thorough knowledge of the content required in their position, demonstrate a high level of aptitude for participating in and guiding team practices and processes, and are skilled in delivery of HQPD coaching with adult learners.
Requires comprehensive knowledge of:
  • The following methodology and implementation processes relative to the District Continuous Improvement effort (including, but not limited to):
    • Creating a collaborative culture
      • Leadership and effective teaming
      • Common formative assessments
      • Goal setting (collective inquiry and problem solving)
      • Continuous learning
      • Research-based effective teaching/learning practices
      • Data (collecting, analyzing, and data-based decision-making)
  • Effective professional development standards for adult learners
  • The change process and systems change
  • Integration of school improvement efforts
  • School-based implementation coaching
  • Cultural awareness
Required Education/Experience/Certifications/Licensures:
  • A master’s degree is required
  • Background and experience in formative assessment, the research-based instructional practices of John Hattie and data analysis, especially at the classroom level, is preferred
  • Computer literacy is a necessity (i.e., Google Docs, Moodle, Skype, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
Other Requirements:
The means and ability to travel within the St. Louis metropolitan area on a regular basis is required.  The nature of this position requires attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, including national, state and local conferences and meetings.
