Position:School Nurse
To Whom Responsible:Health Services Coordinator and Building Principal
For Whom/What Responsible:To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of the school health services program in order to realize that service’s maximum positive impact on the educational environment.
Qualifications:Degree: Registered Professional Nurse (R.N.) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
License: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, licensed to practice in the state of Missouri. A copy of the current license must be on file in the office of the superintendent.
Preferred Experience:Prior work in public school, public health, or related fields, computer use and excellent human relation skills.
Primary Responsibilities:To assist in maintaining school health services, and to assist in the implementation of the district’s preventive health care program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The School Health Nurse is employed for 190 days during the school term according to the annual school calendar for certificated teachers. Salary shall be established annually by the Board of Education and benefits are as provided for full-time employees. Work-related expenses validated by a monthly log shall be reimbursed at district rates.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated by the district health services coordinator in consultation with the building administrator according to board policies and adopted procedures for support staff members.
