Position Overview
MERS Goodwill is seeking a Director for our north county St. Louis Excel Center. The Excel Center runs five 8-week terms. The director will manage a full-time staff of 4+ teachers, 1-2 life coaches, 1 Skill Up case manager, & one daycare director. The school offers four daytime periods & 2-3 evening periods that meet 4 days per week (Mon - Thurs). Fridays are reserved for meetings, administrative tasks, events, professional development, & recruitment. Directors are responsible for day-to-day operations such as staffing, facilities, scheduling, enrollment, & student success. We seek a director committed to continuous improvement through collaboration & innovation. The Director will support staff as they support students by meeting students where they are & guiding them to academic and career success. Our goal is for Directors to both find joy in, and approach leadership with flexibility, dedication, and creativity.

Primary/Essential Functions
- Establish & maintain a positive & productive school culture built on professionalism, trust, respect, relationships, communication, & collaboration for students and staff
- Develop & implement programs, partnerships, activities & objectives for staff and students
- Effectively facilitate collaboration among different stakeholders, staff members, & outside partners
- Ensure adequate staffing by scheduling, hiring, supervising, & evaluating employees
- Develop, implement, and utilize systems to track student progress and staff performance
- Develop & implement guiding policies and procedures that are effectively communicated to all stakeholders
- Maintain organizational priorities while nimbly adapting to changing circumstances
- Balance autonomy and accountability as a leader and a change agent within the program
- Participate as a member of the district leadership team to grow The Excel Center program in Missouri
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Educational Institution; Masters Degree preferred
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of students, staff and co-workers
- Must be available to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
- At-least 1-year of direct educational supervisory experience. 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of Missouri educational requirements to receive a high school diploma strongly preferred
- Experience working with nontraditional and/or adult learners preferred
