Human Resources Generalist Description- The School District of University City’s staff has the mission of transforming the lives of every student every day. As a Human Resources Generalist, you are at the heart of our team's operations and activities and the soul that keeps your team moving forward. You anticipate the needs of your teammates and help them stay focused on their projects by resolving operational and administrative issues before they arise. You move quickly with the changing environment and are up to date with the latest Google and Microsoft products and services. You also use that knowledge to strategically support your team's projects. In addition to being organized and analytical, you possess outstanding judgment and communication skills needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions. 
 
You are detail-oriented, knowledgeable, organized, energetic and a dependable person is driven by a common Human Resources goal: to provide amazing service to all with whom we come in contact. Working behind the scenes, you make a significant impact on the people you support as well as on students and staff throughout the District. You are adept at leading and managing a variety of simultaneous projects, which requires the particular talent of being able to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholder groups. You are also eager to learn all you can about Human Resources. 
 
Salary Commensurate with experience 
 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Three-five years in a human resources related position preferably a school system
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).  This includes: Frontline, TalentEd, SIS FIN, or other platforms  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously focused on results
  • Must be comfortable interfacing at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision 
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, specifically to the Assistant Superintendent for People and General Administration
  • Onboard and process certified and support, substitute, and extra duty staff hires, transfers, separations, etc. 
  • Coordinate all substitutes including acquisition, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing communication Manage absence management system 
  • Maintain employee files and records electronically 
  • Maintain current, inviting, and error-free HR content on the District website 
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims and process monthly unemployment statements for accuracy and payment 
  • Coordinate annual training for staff via SafeSchools 
  • Process all tuition reimbursement requests for approval and payment 
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrators. 
  • Follow up on claims Compile and submit reports for board review and approval. 
  • Complete employment verifications 
  • Complete all requests for human resources data (surveys) 
  • Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory, and other requested reports as needed 
  • Monitor results and activities to document and implement process improvements 
  • Provide support to employees in various aspects of human resources 
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
