JOB/POSITION SUMMARY: Brentwood High School seeks a highly qualified applicant to provide supervisory and instructional leadership to a state and nationally competitive speech and debate team. This person must be willing to spend after school hours coaching at practices and weekend hours at competitive tournaments. In addition to coaching, this position will require the recruitment of a highly diverse group of students, organization of paperwork for weekend tournaments, and a sensitivity and understanding of teenagers in competitive situations. 
REPORTS TO: Building Athletic Director

Terms of Employment
SHIFT TYPE: Extra Pay/Extra Duty
HOURS PER DAY/WEEK: Non-tournament weeks = 4-6 hours/weekly; Tournament weeks = 20 hours/weekly 
SCHEDULE: Seasonal
STARTING SALARY: Depending on experience; Semester 1 = $3581-4335, Semester 2 = $2,686-$3252
FLSA STATUS: Exempt (not eligible for overtime)

  • Experience with Speech/Debate groups
  • working with a diverse population of children preferred 
  • Missouri State Teaching Certificate preferred
