LOCATION: Mesnier Primary School or
Gotsch Intermediate School
 
DETAILS: 9.5-month support staff positions for the 2022-23, with district-recognized holidays and paid sick and personal leave. These are full-time, 37.5 hours per week positions, with district provided benefits packages that include employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.
 
COMPENSATION: According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Staff Assistant range. The pay range for this position begins at $12.67 hourly. Those with Teaching Certification will begin on C step 3 starting at $13.48 hourly.  Placement within the Staff Assistant range is determined by like experience.  Pursuant to board policy, for initial placement a maximum of 5 years of experience may be applied to the Support Staff Pay Schedule.
 
JOB SUMMARY: To assist the administration by providing support to school educational programs through providing appropriate classroom supports, activities and learning environment in order that students may learn effectively and experience a smoothly functioning program.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 60 college credit hours and a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate are required
  • Missouri Teacher Certification is preferred
  • Prior experience in a school setting is preferred
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, email, etc. is preferred
  • Prior experience with office equipment (copying machine and scanner) is preferred
  • The ability to listen well and respond to questions from students in a professional manner is required
  • The ability to redirect and interact positively with students is required
  • The ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond to situations in a calm, caring manner is required
  • The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required
  • The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with staff is required
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community is required
  • The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required
  • The willingness to learn new material and, as needed, attend professional development is required
  • Completed current Hepatitis A vaccination series or willingness to complete is required
