Job Description:
The Miriam Learning Center offers comprehensive support services for children ages 2 to 18 who are unique learners. The Center offers a wide variety of special education services to children and young adults from the St. Louis community.
STATUS: Part-time 20 hours per week, pro-rated Paid Time Off. Salary commensurate with experience.
WORK DAYS/HOURS: Daytime hours between 8:30 and 4:30, Monday through Friday, with an occasional evening shift Monday-Thursday to cover for vacations/illnesses for evening Administrative staff.
LOCATION: Miriam School, 501 Bacon Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119
  • High School Diploma, college preferred
  • Clerical Experience
  • Basic computer skills with ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Ability to learn to handle situations involving upset children

REPORTS TO: Administrative Supervisor
The Administrative Assistant helps support all Learning Center staff through various clerical responsibilities.
  1. Provides general administrative support for the MLC program including copying, emailing, and answering phones.
  2. Monitors the MLC door and admits students, staff, parents, and other visitors.
  3. Performs detailed comparison of payroll entries to therapy notes during payroll cycles.
  4. Provides program information to parents.
  5. Converses with parents to promote customer satisfaction.
  6. Ensures parents pick up children.
  7. May cover Monday-Thursday evening hours (4:30-8:00pm), filling in for evening administration vacations or absences.
  8. Completes insurance superbills for parents.
  9. Assigns and enters clients into cloud-based system and scans and uploads data.
  10. Helps schedule clients for services and testing.
  11. Helps with summer camp ordering and other clerical tasks required to make summer camp operate smoothly.
  12. Organizes and logs therapy equipment, test kits, tutoring materials, computers, and other items staff uses.
  13. Helps with organizing and running department marketing efforts and staff parties.
  14. Any other duties as specified by the supervisor.
