Primary Responsibilities:
To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation in middle school communication arts.
Qualifications & Experiences:
Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree with special preparation and Missouri teaching certificate in communication arts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical
health.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and
interests.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Supervise overnight stays for curriculum-based expedition trip(s).
