Job Description:

The Miriam Learning Center is a program designed for students, age 2 through 18, who require therapeutic, academic, and/or social or emotional support in order to be successful. MLC specializes in providing special education services within schools, in the community and at one of our centers.
STATUS: Full time Exempt, 40 hours per week, year-round, full benefits, No vacation allowed during summer camp.
REPORTS: Learning Center Director
· Bachelor's Degree in education, prefer special education certification
· Two years of experience providing direct services to youth or young adults who are unique learners, preferably in a school setting · Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills · Ability to multi-task · Computer literate
JOB DESCRIPTION The Special Education Program Coordinator oversees the department's tutoring and SPED sub program. He/she coordinates and runs summer programming, enrichment classes for Miriam schools, and professional development for partner schools.
JOB DUTIES 1. Answers parent inquires for services within 24 hours.
2. Assists parents with determining appropriate services and resources.
3. Assists with hiring and training new teachers and/or camp staff.
4. Provides clinical consult to teachers assigned in the community.
5. Assigns teachers into assignments and coordinates assignments.
6. Oversees and manages all planning for summer camp.
7. Ensures all aspects of summer camp are ready for campers including assigning teachers, getting supplies, and screening and interviewing campers.
8. Runs daily operations of summer camp in June and July (no vacation allowed during this time).
9. Provides tours for camp to determine applicant's appropriateness for services.
10. Coordinates enrichment classes at Miriam.
11. Ensures classes run smoothly particularly on the first day/night of service.
12. Ensures staff is upholding Miriam's mission and that services meet excellence requirements.
13. Establishes and maintains relationships with referral, funding, schools and other partner entities.
14. Works with partner schools to coordinate professional development when inquires come in.
15. Approves payroll and compares notes with payroll.
16. Performs general onboarding for new staff.
17. Trains staff on Sharepoint and other cloud-based systems.
18. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
