Title: School Nurse–RN
Reports to: Director of Special Services
Classification: Classified
FLSA Status: Exempt
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Staff.
JOB SUMMARY: Provide health/safety services to students and staff, and assist in providing a health curriculum.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Building nurses and Health Room Aides

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

- The School Nurse–RN must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- The School Nurse–RN must hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse, and demonstrate clinical competence in the care of the ill and injured.
- The individual must have a commitment to continued professional development. Other requirements as may be deemed necessary by the Board of Education
- The employee will complete a satisfactory criminal/abuse and neglect background check in accordance with state law and Board policy
