Job Description:
Orchard Farm School District is seeking an Athletic Director to join our team! 
 
The Athletic Director provides administrative direction and oversight for all athletic and activity programs in the district.  The director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations, administering departmental funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent
  • Coaching experience is required
  • Valid Missouri State Teaching Certification 
  • Read and comprehend written and oral instructions
  • Write correspondences and memos
  • Communicate one on one and in small to large group settings
  • Occasionally solve problems involving concrete variables and within standardized situations
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, data entry, search engines and email
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with students, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of NCAA (D-1, D2, and D-3), NAIA, and NJCAA
An individual who holds this position is responsible for:
  • Promotes, directs and coordinates the athletic programs for the District (7-12).
  • Implements rules and procedures to be followed during events and ensures that the events run smoothly.
  • Monitors, explains and enforces safety rules and regulations governing the athletic safety program.
  • Manages coaches towards one goal and one system within each sport.
  • Makes coaching recommendations and/or hires/selects coaches, sponsors, and officials.
  • Conduct coaches meetings including preseason workshops and annual training.
  • Plans and arranges the transportation for athletic trips.
  • Evaluates and supervises the performance of coaching staff year round.
  • Supervises and decides the readiness of facilities for sporting events each day.
  • Supervises athletic and co-curricular activities in cooperation with other administrators.
  • Establishes and prepares the annual activities budget.
  • Exercises budgetary control on a day-to-day basis for the athletic budget.
  • Arbitrates schedule conflicts between organizations and the school.
  • Arranges concessions for events with appropriate organizers.
  • Facilitates all athletic forms and is responsible for monitoring academic eligibility.
  • Facilitates a partnership development in sports marketing.
  • Prepares appropriate requisitions for necessary equipment in all sports.
  • Purchases, displays, sells, maintains and oversees repairs of equipment.
  • Oversees the District’s compliance with rules and regulations of the Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA).
  • Perform other duties assigned by High School Principal, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.           
Supervisory Duties
  • Has supervisory responsibility over all district coaching personnel.
Terms of Employment
  • 12 months (contract)

  • Minimum salary $92,000 - commensurate with experience
