Job Description:

The Compliance Coordinator has the crucial role of assuring the core data, Federal programs and state monitoring are in compliance with DESE and Federal laws/regulations.  The Compliance Coordinator works with the Business Manager to assure that data is organized and maintained to meet audit criteria and internal controls.

  • The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for four essential components: Student Database and Tracking; State Reporting and Compliance; Federal Programs Reporting and Compliance; and General Office Duties.
    • Student Database and Tracking
      • Coordinates with data base administrator to
      • Assures permanent records are set up and maintained
      • Organizes and prints/saves on server all end-of-year reports from database for the academic school year and summer school
    • State Reporting and Compliance
      • Assures all students have a DESE provided MOSIS number
      • Assures data is compiled and submitted timely for Core Data Cycles
      • Updates teachers’ core data screens
      • Assures all MOSIS reports are organized, filed and available for annual financial audits
      • Develops spreadsheets for program updates
    • Federal Programs Reporting
      • Utilizes ePeGs and IMACS system to enter the following:
        • Inputs Federal programs’ budget
        • Provides FER Report
        • Provides 9/30 Report
        • Provides Core Assurances
        • Submits monthly billing for all Title Programs
        • Submits monthly billing for Special Education Program
        • Inputs data for other Federal grants, as required
      • Free & Reduced Lunch Program
        • Provides, collects, approves and forwards applications for free and reduced lunch program
        • Submits monthly submission to DESE for reimbursement
        • Maintains reports for audits
    • Assist Business Manager
      • Assists with on-going budget management for Federal programs
      • Updates spreadsheets
      • Accumulates budget information for federal programs
      • Maintains self-monitoring checklist for state and Federal audits
      • Collects and organizes back-up documentation for all state and Federal programs General Office Duties
      • General filing and record keeping organization
      • Performs other duties as assigned
  • College degree
  • Three years’ experience with state and federal compliance responsibilities for a school, preferably a charter school
  • Knowledge of database administration for a school, preferably a charter school
  • Experience with database input into DESE for core data, MOSIS, ePeGs and IMACS
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and development of statistical data
  • Strong skills in organizing and implementing file management systems
  • Excellent skills in communication both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with administration, staff, students, parents,
  • Common sense approach to problem solving and the ability to thrive under the pressures, competing priorities of a thriving, demanding charter school environment
Status of Position: This is a full-time position with Académie Lafayette.  This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.
