Job Description:
The School District of Washington is looking for an innovative instructional leader for Washington West Elementary School.  This is an eleven month position beginning July 1, 2022.  It is full-time, benefit eligible, and PSRS eligible.  The starting pay range depending on experience is between $77,697 and $89,733.  Questions should be directed to Rachael Franssen, Assistant Superintendent at rachael.franssen@sdowmo.org

POSITION SUMMARY 
The Principal is responsible for the climate and culture of the assigned building including, but not limited to, instructional leadership, communications, employee growth and development, and operational management.
SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
The Principal is a supervisory role with multiple responsibilities. This includes items such as employee management, budgetary responsibilities, student, staff, and event supervision, as well as making direct contributions to advance the District vision, mission, and goals. Input, collaboration, and communication regarding these efforts is critical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Build and maintain secure professional relationships with staff, students, parents, patrons, and colleagues in order to create a culture of growth and innovation. Work with instructional staff to implement strong instructional programming aligned to academic achievement, social emotional wellbeing, and college/career readiness. Maintain accurate records in accordance with timelines including, but not limited to, staff evaluation records, correspondence both written and verbal, budget records, student records, safety protocols, and other operational records. Actively engage as a member of a team.  The Principal will engage in both building-level and District-level teams.  Communication and engagement in this area is critical.  Instructional leadership and a strong foundation in professional practice is essential. Ensure efficient process for operational needs including reporting (suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, harassment, etc.) as directed by Board Policy and otherwise required by law.  This includes conducting training and leadership activities to ensure consistent implementation. Other duties as directed by the supervisor.   
OTHER DUTIES 
Additional duties necessary to supervise students, monitor events, or assist in an emergency situation. Facilitate and attend building events such as open houses, curriculum night, informational meetings, Board of Education meetings, and events designed to bring the public into the District. Leadership or participation on an interview committee, staff or parent presentation/professional learning, covering a duty of a colleague, etc. Learn and/or participate in professional development activities and/or strategic planning work outside of the typical school work day and/or school calendar.

Supervise building operations at all times and/or as directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 
Master degree or higher
Valid Missouri administrative certification appropriate to the level and subject matter
DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS
All employees of the District are expected to adhere to the policies and regulations of the Board of Education, maintain appropriate certification and competencies necessary for the position, complete required training annually, and demonstrate the values of the District at all times. 
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL DEMANDS
The candidate should be able to move in and around the building including other District buildings, and campus locations.  The candidate may be required to lift up to 50lbs. and maintain consistent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy unless otherwise required by law. General functioning such as the ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, utilize District resources including District issued technology and meeting multiple demands from people while interacting with students, staff, and the public are required to fulfill the essential job duties.
