Job Description:
Specific Information pertaining to this position: This valued middle school position is a hybrid of social studies and language arts. Teachers will teach 7th grade students integrated, project-based units using the social studies and language arts standards. Teachers will plan with another social studies/explorations teacher (common plan time provided within the schedule) and students will be divided among them. Teachers will also work with other members of the 8th grade team, and have ample support from coaches, administration, and other support staff.

Candidates can be certified in social studies or language arts. If not certified, candidates should be actively working on certification. We would like to be able to hire the teacher to get acquainted with the class, school and curriculum before winter break begins (so possible start date the week of Dec 13th) but the teacher would officially take over the classroom after winter break on January 3rd.


Premier Charter School is a public charter school in the city of Saint Louis that serves students from Pre-Kindergarten-8th grades. The first charter school operating in the city of St. Louis, Premier Charter School is focused on building both a strong academic foundation and the social-emotional skills needed for students to succeed in high school and beyond.  At PCS, we develop curious and empowered learners through whole child development and research-based practices such as Project Based Learning.
