Job Description:

DETAILS: 12-month support staff position, on a 251 day calendar for 2021-22, with district-recognized holidays and paid vacation, sick, and personal leave. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.

COMPENSATION: According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the District Registrar range. The starting pay for this position is $15.27/hour. Placement within the range is determined by like experience and education.  Pursuant to board policy, for initial placement a maximum of 5 years of experience may be applied to the Support Staff Pay Schedule.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Three years of experience as a secretary or in a related office position is required
  • The perceptiveness and sensitivity necessary to work compatibly with both adults and children of a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population is required
  • The ability to perform the essential functions of the position is required
  • A customer service mentality with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and e-mail) with students, parents, staff and community is required
  • The essential ability to be dependable and punctual is required
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are required
  • Experience or comfort with maintaining student records and processing student enrollment is required
  • Knowledge of common office equipment, the ability to operate a personal computer and related software, including use of the internet and web-based tools are required
  • Strong word processing, data entry, spreadsheet, and database skills are required; experience with student data management databases (SIS, PowerSchool, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with Windows applications, specifically Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.) is required; Google Docs experience is a plus
  • The ability to professionally handle confidential data that reflects information about students, families, employees, and district operations is required
  • The ability to effectively prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required
  • The ability to process a large volume of data in an accurate & timely manner is required
  • The ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures is required
  • The ability to work independently, use good judgment, and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations is required
  • The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required
  • The willingness to learn new material and, as needed, attend professional development is required
