POSITION: Social Emotional Interventionist Assistant - Kratz Elementary School
                                      
QUALIFICATIONS: 60 college credit hours required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years working in some capacity with children; preferably in a school setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION
 
 
JOB TITLE:     Social-Emotional Interventionist Assistant
 
POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Emotional Interventionist Assistant supports identified students to remain in school and be successful in the classroom. The interventionist creates a safe environment for dysregulated students to refocus, relax, and practice the skills necessary to handle situations. The interventionist will be supported by the building counselor, social worker, and an administrator, to develop and implement individual student plans. The interventionist will be responsible for working with students individually and in small groups. Interventionists will be trained members of crisis and student support teams.
 
REPORTS TO:  Principal             
 
EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
  • Responsible for supporting the Refocus Room.
  • Responsible for coordinating and creating student plans with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Maintains and promotes positive relationships in a safe and caring learning environment.
  • Monitors behavioral goals related to self-regulation.
  • Collects data and prepares reports for analysis.
  • Assists with the implementation of the school’s Positive Behavior Support and Intervention program.
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with social skills.
  • Confers with parents on the progress of students.
  • Attends Student Support Team Meetings.
