The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. is currently seeking an Education Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Education Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight and development of systems providing and coordinating child development/educational services for Head Start/Early Head Start children and families, with a primary focus on Early Head Start. The Educator Coordinator provides technical training and monitoring supervision over education staff. Secondary responsibilities for this position include, assisting with the assurance and implementation of child care licensing regulations, defined administration, information services, other support services, related planning for the program, and compliance with performance standards and best practice for the Head Start program. As an Integral part of the Management Team, the Education Coordinator will work in tandem with other program coordinators and specialists to support the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start.

Candidates must have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development is required. Master's preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of early childhood education programs; program planning; and community resources.
  • Must have C.L.A.S.S reliability, ITERS, and ECERS training.
  • Must be C.L.A.S.S. reliable (6) months of hire.
  • One year of experience working as a supervisor or administrator in an Early Childhood Education program.
  • Three years of experience working with disadvantaged, low income clients and the general community desirable.
  • Ability to relate well and maintain effective working relationships with staff, children, parents, and other agencies.
  • Ability to keep all information strictly confidential, and exercise professional judgement in evaluating before making decisions.
  • Possess valid driver's license.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.
*Per program policies a health exam, clear tuberculosis screen, Hepatitis A vaccination and background check are required for hire.
