Elementary Math Interventionist Job Description
Job Title: Elementary Math Interventionist
Reports to: School Principal
Primary Purpose: To support the district’s K- 4 Instructional programs to ensure academic improvement and student success. The focus of the position is on Instructional interventions for struggling students and teacher support.
Qualifications: Education/Certification Bachelor’s Degree (Masters Degree preferred) Valid Missouri Teacher Certification appropriate for area assigned. Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs. Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills experience. Experience as a classroom teacher.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Works with individual students and student groups to provide effective interventions to improve student performance.
2. Support classroom instruction through modeling and mentoring.
3. Facilitate campus screening and assist with all other state and local assessments as needed. Review student data with classroom teachers and assist in determining appropriate tiered intervention.
4. Assist classroom teachers in determining and implementing appropriate tiered intervention.
5. Work with district Instructional Specialists in the developing and implementing effective intervention programs.
6. Assist classroom teacher and Instructional Specialist in the delivery of district-wide instructional initiatives.
7. Confer with principals and district administrators concerning instructional issues.
8. Assist with coordinating campus and district efforts to improve instruction for each child.
9. Facilitate, participate and provide campus and district staff development.
10. Meet weekly with campus Instructional Specialist for planning and information dissemination.
11. Work with Instructional Specialists and administrators to create a collaborative team to strengthen the instructional program of the school and district.
12.  Be familiar with Eureka Math and how to facilitate instruction using it as a resource.
