POSITION:  Coordinator of Curriculum and Federal Programs

SALARY: Administrative Salary - Commensurate with Experience

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction                                   
  • Assists the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in directing the administration and coordination of the district’s educational programs.
  • Provides staff leadership to ensure understanding of the educational objectives of the district.
  • Identifies and implements effective curriculum, instruction, and assessment policies and practices that maximize educational options and lead to improved achievement for all students.
  • Facilitates leadership development as it pertains to curriculum, assessment data, and federal programs.
  • Guides curriculum revisions, adoptions, and implementation.
  • Assists with the evaluation of the educational programs.
  • Supports the development, budgeting, monitoring, and implementation of Federal Programs.
  • Assures Federal Program compliance and documentation including but not limited to required improvement plans and FOCUS school requirements (or other Department of Elementary and Secondary Education designations).
  • Supports the implementation of Professional Learning Communities in the district.
  • Planning and organizing grading structures and report cards
  • Prepares reports and recommendations for the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local statutes and board of education policies as they relate to education programs.
  • Responds to parent, student, teacher, and administrative concerns regarding the curriculum and/or curriculum implementation, resolving concerns in a reasonable manner
  • Works with principals, and teachers on an ongoing basis to analyze student performance and other data to determine student needs in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Keeps informed on the latest research, trends, and developments in all areas of education and interprets these matters for staff.
