Job Description:

Putnam County High School is currently seeking applicants to fill a teaching vacancy in our high school science department for the 2021-2022 school year in the areas of Biology and Physical Science. Putnam County R-I High School is committed to having a positive school culture with passionate teachers that make student learning and engagement their top priority. We are proud to call ourselves a professional learning community at PCR-I and provide common planning time for core teachers in grades 6-12 along with high-quality professional development for our staff. Putnam County R-I is a rural district with approximately 194 students in grades 9-12. We are located just south of the Iowa border at the junction of State Highways 5 and 136. Our community is fortunate to have some beautiful scenery whether you choose to live in the country, or at our prestigious Lake Thunderhead. Putnam County has outstanding community support, and it shows in our excellent facilities. PCR-I  students are one-to-one with Chromebooks grades 2-12 and all teachers use Google Suite in their classrooms. Coaching and or sponsorship opportunities are available at our distinct including but not limited to Varsity Softball, Junior Varsity Softball, Junior High Softball, Junior High Basketball, Varsity Cheerleading, Junior Varsity Cheerleading, and Varsity Boys Golf.  
The successful candidate should hold a valid Missouri teacher’s certificate in grades 9-12 science or be eligible for certification in the area of Science. Our 2020-21 base teacher salary was $33,000 with the possibility of a base increase for the 2021-2022 school year.
