The Lexington R-V School District is seeking applicants for a Middle School/High School Assistant Principal/Activities Director position for the 2021-2022 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:  To display leadership in providing quality educational and extracurricular programs, promote effective instructional practices, and provide a safe and orderly school environment that is highly conducive to learning. To oversee and provide leadership for the athletic program and coordinate the athletic program with all other extra-curricular programs in District. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Additional duties may be assigned.
  • Assist the Principal in administering the Student Code of Conduct in compliance with the approved policies of the statutes of the State of Missouri, regulations of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the approved policies of the Lexington R-V Board of Education.
  • Provide the leadership for implementation of programs to meet student needs.
  • Assist the Principal in establishing guidelines regarding student conduct and maintaining effective student discipline.
  • Assist in the orientation of newly assigned staff members in their transition to the new position.
  • Assist in preparing reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required for operation of the school and its programs.
  • Participate in district administrative meetings and other meetings as directed by the Principal.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Education.
  • Work as a liaison between the school and MSHAA, including reports, forms, eligibility requirements, lists, entry information, and rules concerning state events.          
  • Prepare an Athletic Manual outlining procedures, policies, and specific responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership for programs and activities that are assigned to this position by the building principal.
  • Confer with the building principal and coaches concerning the general organization and conduct of the athletic program.
  • Work with the building principal in scheduling athletic and activity events.
  • Contract officials with the input of head coaches.
  • Arrange all transportation for events.
  • Schedule, supervise, and coordinate all workers for athletic events.
  • Share supervision duties and responsibilities with the principal.
  • Keep the Principal informed of the school’s activities as well as any problems that might develop.
  • Maintain, control, and account for all funds generated by the school’s student activities.

  • The Assistant Principal/Activities Director shall have completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from an accredited college or university.
  • The Assistant Principal/Activities Director shall possess the necessary certification for the position as required by the Missouri State Board of Education.
  • The Assistant Principal/Activities Director shall have had at least two (2) years of teaching experience, two years of coaching or directing other extracurricular areas as determined by the State Board of Education and the Lexington R-V Board of Education.
  • The employee will complete a satisfactory criminal/abuse and neglect background check in accordance with state law and Board policy.
