Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the HVAC Daikin VRV Technician performs repairs a full range of duties associated with installation, maintenance and repair of ventilation, air-conditioning, and environmental control systems.   The HVAC Technician 1 will also provide general maintenance and repairs to ensure building systems operate efficiently and the buildings remain in good physical condition. 

Essential Functions

• Perform VRV system inspections and manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance.
• Participates in major component replacement and evaluation of complex system problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on both pneumatically controlled and digitally controlled HVAC systems, as needed on non-VRV systems.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the School’s discretion.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED. 
• Post-secondary trade or vocational school certification in HVAC and at least 3 years of Daikin VRV work experience.
• Class II or better refrigeration technical license.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of digitally controlled HVAC systems featuring programmable logic controls.
• Ability to repair building systems that are controlled by a central Energy Management Control System (EMCS).
• Ability to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment or machinery.
• Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet.
• Ability to work additional hours when needed.
