Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities are to coordinate the Crossroads Community Collaborative, a framework for embedding real world learning into the school. Authentic Learning Coordinator is an academic professional that has knowledge and experience with the empirical foundations of problem-based approaches to teaching and learning. This person aligns learning standards to projects to help track academic gains. This person works closely and collaboratively with teachers and community stakeholders to plan and implement industry informed instruction and Project Based Learning. Authentic Learning Coordinator works with the school instructional coach to develop the capacity of staff to design and implement rigorous, engaging and ambitious projects. Authentic Learning Coordinator serves as the community liaison for the Crossroads Community Collaborative by coordinating community clients and curating projects for students to select.  The  teacher is a hardworking, goal-oriented and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.

Position Responsibilities:
  •  Serves as a community ambassador for the Crossroads Community Collaborative.
  • Assist with the implementation of systems and structures around school change processes at each school site (i.e. meet with site leadership teams around developing a School Success Rubric, gathering baseline data, setting goals, etc.)
  • Assist with technology, data, and platforms as needed
  • Teach Project-Based Learning classes
  • Provide on-going coordinating support in PBL and 21st Century learning outcomes to instructional coaches and administration.
  • Works closely with instructional coaches and administration to design and implement PBL units that are grounded in mastering learning standards.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and manages curriculum reform through coordinating with administration, instructional coaches, and community stakeholders.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with administration and instructional coaches to identify ways to infuse PBL strategies across content areas.
  • Works closely with school leaders to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of PBL projects.
  • Is project lead with community funders who support our Real World Learning initiatives.
  • Prepares and maintains relevant status reports and schedules; tracks milestones/deliverables; supports collection of project data.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains relationships vital to project success with students, staff and community partners.
  • Makes presentations to various community organizations and businesses explaining the Crossroads Community Collaborative
  • Identify and manage internship and externship learning opportunities for students and staff.
  • Demonstrate gains in student performance
  • Participate in meetings, training and professional development
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of education required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of four years of experience in urban education
  • Experience in designing and carrying out multidisciplinary projects with students.
  • Experience of collaborative project design with other teachers.
  • Experience in design and delivery of teacher training, focused on project-based learning.
