Job Description:
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent Elementary
General Summary: Under the supervision of the assistant superintendent for secondary schools and Academic Principal(s), Math Coaches provide support for the implementation of the district adopted curriculum program and input toward the revision of the curriculum for which they are assigned. 
Essential Functions:   
  • Support academic services at school sites as well as support implementation of district academic initiatives.
  • Support teachers with lesson design and instructional strategies that enhance the learning environment of the classroom.
  • Support implementation of the district math curriculum.
  • Provide leadership and input toward proposed revisions of district curriculum.
  • Assist with professional development as appropriate.
  • Assist district and building administration in ongoing monitoring of student learning.
  • In conjunction with the building Academic Principal, facilitate and support grade level/department meetings.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of math interim assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with the District Coaches, Academic Principals, and Chief Academic Officer in Leadership Team meetings to improve student achievement.
  • Provide other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Able to make public speaking presentations to groups of teachers, administrators, or Board of Education members.
  • Able to spend extended time working with various computer/tablet applications.
  • Appropriately Certified (Social Studies)
  • Five (5) years successful teaching experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Length of Contract: 189 days
Type of Position: Exempt
