Job Description:

Position Title: Administrative Maintenance Staff
Reports To: Director of Facilities & Operations
Salary Range: $42,000-$50,000 min
Summary:  The Administrator provides effective management of 1st shift custodial staff, aids in grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and renovation (including construction) activities of the district so that all students, staff, and parents have a physical learning environment that is clean, attractive, pleasant and smoothly functioning. 
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Repairs to building, plumbing, lighting, and general repair.
  2. Lead person – Ability to supervise and move labor as needed.
  3. 26 weekend (bi-weekly) security checks. Security checks divided equally between this position and another facility’s person.
  4. Input on equipment acquisition and budget.
  5. Recommendation on hiring and firing.
  6. Diagnose and identify light equipment parts to order for repair.
  7. Loads and unloads trucks; spreads sand, gravel, and dirt; moves and carries heavy materials such as pipe, lumber, gravel, sand, or furniture.
  8. Operates mechanized equipment including but not limited to motor vehicles, vacuum sweeper, tractor, grass mower, and snowplow.
  9. Assists skilled workers in a variety of assignments such as digging and refilling ditches, breaking concrete, mixing mortar, asphalt repair, and running errands.
  10. Shovels snow from sidewalks and driveways and spread sand, salt, or cinders to prevent slipping.
  11. Removes litter and performs landscaping duties to maintain and care for school grounds.
  12. Adjusts and repairs such equipment as sprinklers, and hedge shears.
  13. Repairs and installs fences and outdoor playground equipment.
  14. Washes, cleans and maintains department vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  15. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience. HVAC Universal Certification. Electrical and Plumbing experience.

AHERA Awareness Training.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit and use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach.  The employee is frequently required to stoop and kneel.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Regular attendance on the job is expected.
Terms of Employment:
Terms covering compensation, benefits, and working conditions are specified by the Board of Education’s policies, agreements, and approvals.  This is a 12-month position.
