Job Description:
Primary Objective: Performs administrative and secretarial support necessary to accomplish objectives established by the Building Principal. Adapts to the variety of responsibilities. Presents a positive image in contacts with the parents, community and staff. Properly handle confidential matters relating to students, student records, parents, staff and any other school related issues.

Properly handle confidential matters relating to students, student records, parents, staff and any other school related issues.
Essential Functions
- Prepares, composes, transcribes and/or types documents, correspondence, reports, newsletters, schedules, etc. for the purpose of communicating information to school and District personnel, students, parents, and the public
- Supports assigned supervisor(s) for the purposes of providing assistance with their department functions. Maintains confidentiality when working with private material concerning the District or individuals
- Maintains files for supervisor(s) and/or department
- Determines the need of written or telephone inquiries, provides information or direction and resolves issues from knowledge of District policies and procedures, or refers to appropriate party
- Receives visitors into department or office, ascertains the purpose of the visit, and furnishes the information or directs to proper person
- Proofreads, edits, and prepares material for printing, approval, and distribution
- Initiates contact and transacts business with outside agencies and parties
- Prepares and distributes related reports, and maintains data bases appropriate to the specific area of responsibility
- Develops systems to meet building/department needs, establishes and maintains files, and assists in monitoring building/department budgets
- Assists with ordering office supplies; assists with inventory of office/department supplies
- Processes mail, may schedule appointments, and may make arrangements for travel for staff and/or student events including field trips
- Operates standard office equipment, is proficient in word processing and basic spreadsheet skills
- Hosts building tours
- Maintains student records and attendance
- Records teachers’ absences and substitute requests
- Manages maintenance requests and works closely with the building custodial supervisor
- Maintains supplies and maintenance for computers, copiers, and printers
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Office support experience
- Strong computer/technology skills required
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
