Job Description:
Jefferson College is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant. The person in this position supports the Vice President in leading the instructional division of the College. These responsibilities include communicating with internal constituents (Board of Trustees, committee, faculty, and staff) and supporting operations (budget, organization, coordination, and management). This position also communicates with external constituents (including but not limited to HLC, MDHEWD, and MCCA) and supports those operations. Responsibilities include detailed office management skills and abilities related to confidentiality, budget management, document completion and review, annual reporting, preparation and development of office and campus-wide correspondence, and assisting with event planning, special projects, and research. Technical abilities supporting effective office organization and management are essential to the diverse and varied methods of correspondence and communication.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree and minimum of four years progressive experience providing administrative services. Additional years of experience strongly preferred.

Skills include: excellent writing and editing skills; professional interpersonal and communications skills; good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information; attention to detail; ability to follow through and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently with frequent interruptions; ability to work independently and as a team player; effective problem-solving skills.
Additional skills include: advanced Microsoft Office Suite including Excel required; experience with Banner and Blackboard desired. Ability to learn web editing software, social media platforms, electronic scheduling applications, and BoardDocs is essential.
