Employment Opportunity for the 2021-2022 School Year

Supervisor:  Superintendent
Primary Responsibilities: To create and sustain an environment that results in the academic success of all students, the professional growth for all staff, and nurtures effective partnerships with all stakeholders-parents, community leaders and other professionals.
Qualifications/Experience:  A Master's Degree or higher, with a major in educational administration and a Missouri Teacher Certificate in Administration – Principal (appropriate grade level).
Terms of Employment:  Employed for a twelve-month period as a certified administrator with salary and benefits to be set by the superintendent and Board of Education.
Essential Functions:
  • Serves as the instructional administrative leader of the school to which assigned.
  • Implements Board policy and administrative procedures.
  • Implements the District curriculum to students.
  • Supervises and evaluates the building personnel.
  • Works cooperatively with the other District supervisors.
  • Accepts individual and group assignments.
  • Stresses the need for economy and exercises budgetary responsibility.
  • Participates in principal’s meeting and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
  • Assumes responsibility for enrolling, assigning, transferring and dropping students and notifying the superintendent of such.
  • Assumes responsibility for student discipline in the building, on the grounds, on the buses and any school function which take place offsite.
  • Assumes responsibility for the supervision of students on the school premises before, during and after school.
  • Maintains a record of the designed responsible staff for each student.
  • Provides emergency and disaster drills.
  • Produces student and school schedules.
  • Provides staff with the access to the building handbook.
  • Evaluates personnel request for conference attendance.
  • Supervises the substitute teachers in the buildings.
  • Evaluates field trip, personal and professional leave request.
  • Arranges for parent-student conferences and provide student progress reports to parents. Reviews all report cards before they are shared with families.
  • Selects applicants and arranges new applicant interviews for open positions. Sends “Hiring Recommendation” to the Human Resource Department.
  • Arranges for home teaching by special district personnel for students who qualify for such teaching
  • Assumes the responsibility for orienting new teachers.
  • Cooperates in the teacher training programs sponsored by the colleges and universities
  • Conducts staff meetings.
  • Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession.
  • Established and maintains favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicits support for overall school objectives and programs.
  • Prepares or supervises the required reports, inventories, records, lists, requisitions, building & grounds maintenance requests, and other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.
  • Guards against the solicitation of students and student’s parents by non-school agencies except in cases that have been approved by the Board of Education.
  • Advises the superintendent on activities and problems in the school.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in a variety of locations, work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends and meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, and reach.
