Job Description:
Core Data Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining the district-wide student information system, TYLER SIS
  • Establish new TYLER SIS accounts for district personnel based on appropriate security level as well as parent and student accounts on the Parent/Student Portal
  • Collecting/entering district data into the Missouri Core Data/MOSIS state reporting system in accordance with district policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training for teachers and all other staff to ensure competency in their use of TYLER SIS electronic grade books and other various features.
  • Develop/revise annually an enrollment manual to assist all personnel in data entry to maintain an accurate student database.
  • Assist school personnel to produce reports as needed, including GPA, district student membership, and class roster.
  • Assist with Core Data attendance reports and provide the district with attendance reports for grade cards and transcripts.
  • Attend trainings/workshops related to Core Data
  • Attend TYLER SIS user group meetings and other training to develop and retain a high level of expertise in all areas of the TYLER SIS information system.
  • Set up the TYLER SIS grade book infrastructure within PowerSchool to support accurate attendance and grade keeping.
  • Extract data from PowerSchool as requested by principals and/or superintendent to use in data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Receive and respond to requests for district-wide directory information requests, including invoicing and maintaining the Directory Student Activity account.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Detailed and multi-task oriented with a strong sense of deadlines.
  • A self-starter who has the ability to work independently with limited supervision, yet responsive to the needs of others.
  • Excellent organizational skills; strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to write technical directions for non-technical end-users.
  • Superior computer/technology skills with the ability to use and assist with the software and hardware.
  • Flexibility of schedule with the ability to respond in a timely manner to technology issues which may include evening and weekend work.
Qualifications:  Bachelor in Education or above, at least two year’s experience in a school setting managing and maintaining Tyler SIS student information system.  Must pass a background check.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate based on level of experience, education and certification.
