Education and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree
- Valid Missouri Certification in Physical Education, K-12 and Health K-12
- Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and instruction of Health Sciences
- Delivers curriculum established by the Farmington R-7 School Board and Administration.
- Understands and utilizes the National Physical Education Health Standard as well as the grade level outcomes for K-12 PE and Health.
- Has an understanding of physical literacy.
- Works cooperatively and is willing to be a leader on the Health and Wellness Advisory board.
- Understands the assessment process and how it connects to instruction.
- Understands nutrition, healthy food and beverage choices.
- Uses current school student data to plan instruction
- Maintains order within the classroom and school with proactive classroom management and a well-organized learning environment
- Selects and uses a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students
- Stays abreast of current education trends and best practices as these relate to classroom instruction and effective schools
- Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position
- Lead and engage students in physical activities to improve health and increase overall physical activity
- Meet regularly to share best practices with grade team and other colleagues
- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for all students
- Organize and lead healthy living activities with students and staff
- Establish a strong classroom culture through structured procedures and strong relationships with students and their families
- Lead remediation and extension blocks, as well as advisory, and home room classes
- Other duties, as assigned
