Job Description:
The Camdenton R-III School District is accepting applicants for the position of Director at Lake Career and Technical Center. The district is seeking a high-energy individual with a proven record of leading and learning.  This individual will be joining a leadership team that is committed to the proud traditions of the Camdenton R-III School District and the high expectations it seeks to meet. 
 
The director shall have direct supervision of the classroom work and other activities of the teachers.  The director shall strive to develop a high degree of efficiency in classroom instruction, and shall be responsible for maintaining the best possible conditions for a learning environment that promotes everyone learning every day.
 
Qualifications:
  • Possess an Initial Administrator Certificate (career education director), as required by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education department, or other such certificates as recognized by DESE.  The Director will serve as the supervisor of the Adult and Community Education Program.
  • Master’s degree and eligible for a career education director certificate.
  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience in career technical education is preferred. 
  • Previous administrative or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong consideration will be given to individuals with administrative experience in career and technical education.
Familiarity with the Professional Learning Community model, Technical Centers that Work, and demonstrated experience with successful collaboration is preferred. Twelve-month contract.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The Career-Technical Director shall:
 
  1. Establish and promote a collaborative culture of teaching, learning, and respect.
  2. Work with all participating Principals in the following areas: student recruitment, selection, and enrollment; student progress and absences; curriculum changes; scheduling of courses with Camdenton High School principal, and student discipline. 
  3. Recruit and recommend for employment qualified staff.
  4. Supervise staff and ensure they meet continuing certification requirements.
  5. Maintain documentation and lead the staff in maintaining the accreditation for adult/post-secondary accreditation.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures for adult students.
  7. Continue to evaluate program content and offerings for additions, deletions, and improvement revisions.
  8. Prepare and oversee the budget, and secure appropriate funding.
  9. Meet State Department of Education requirements for the maintaining of, and reimbursement of, career and technical education.
  10. Establish guidelines and encourage the development of active, advisory committees for each career and technical education program.
  11. Serves as the Financial Aid Advisor to adult students regarding financial aid from resources such as Pell Grants, Vocational Rehabilitation, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act, Veteran’s Administration, and various scholarship opportunities.
  12. Assist the Adult Marine Technology instructor with the marketing of the program.
  13. Maintain a good public relations environment between the communities served and the career and technical education programs.
  14. Serve on appropriate economic development committees to meet the training needs of the community.
  15. Develop short-term, daytime, and evening industry programming to meet community needs.
  16. Determine costs and recommend tuition to be charged to sending schools, and adult daytime tuition costs.
  17. Ensure all documentation and reports are submitted for local, state, and federal reporting and reimbursement purposes which may include, but are not limited to, attendance, grades, discipline, day-time, and evening tuition and billing, Title IV Federal Financial Aid, Council on Occupational Education Accreditation, Post-Secondary Perkins, IPEDS (Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System), Campus Crime and Security Reports, and Adult/Post-secondary MOSIS file submission.
  18. Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing challenges of mutual interest with others in the field.
  19. Perform such tasks and assume such duties or responsibilities as the central office administrators may assign, as needed or determined.
