Principal of Academic Innovation
St. John School is currently searching for a dynamic, innovative, and motivated leader to join our School Executive Team as our Principal of Academic Innovation. As a Personalized Learning Academy, St. John cultivates confident learners and leaders by providing individualized learning, project-based learning, and social-emotional learning. St. John School and Early Childhood Center are ministries of Pathfinder Church and serve as close partners in the mission to bring wholeness to the lives of families in our community.

Essential Functions:
Executive Team Participation
Actively collaborates as part of the School Executive Team (including the Executive Director and Principal of Experiential Learning) to continuously improve the vision, culture, and climate of the school and to ensure a unified, holistic culture of education throughout STJS.
Parent and Community Promotion
Serves as a parent and community ambassador to: educate and build excitement about education reform and St. John’s unique approach, actively engage the wider community, and serve as an expert voice for change in today’s status-quo academic approach.
Academic Leadership
As a leader and expert in academic strategy and performance, provides direction and oversight for the daily academic operations of the entire spectrum of STJS while skillfully implementing a cohesive strategy of teaching and learning throughout all of STJS for unmatched academic achievement.
People and Talent Development
Inspires and models a culture of humility, feedback, and growth throughout St. John staff; provides meaningful and impactful professional and personal growth opportunities and experiences for faculty and staff; and actively participates in the recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and direct supervision of the 3-8 grade staff.
Operations
Oversees the daily organizational operations of St. John School including: school calendar and class schedules, school safety and emergency procedures, student disciplinary actions, school budget and inventory system, and teaches in the classroom as needed.

Work Schedule:
Full time position working a minimum of 40 hours a week with typical working days Monday – Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm and typically working an 11-11.5 month contract. Requires the flexibility to work longer hours if necessary with regular evening and possible weekend events to be expected.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Master’s Degree in Education with at least five years of experience as an elementary principal/assistant principal and five years of previous classroom instruction. Administrative degree/certification required to meet accreditation standards.
  • Proven knowledge and success with effective teaching techniques and curriculum development.
  • Proven experience and success utilizing data and research-based practices in a school setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and displays exceptional skills in working with people.
  • A strong and personal commitment to Jesus Christ, a member of Pathfinder Church and/or an eagerness to join and partner with the Pathfinder Church community to bring wholeness to the lives of St. John School families.
